Fabulous Holiday!

Today marks the end of a fabulous holiday, but at least the fun is not quite over as we have a few more days off work.

The flight wasn't until 2pm, so we had a lazy breakfast and packed our cases. We still hadn’t eaten the strange flavour of crisps we had bought the previous day, so rather than take them with us, we tried them as we were waiting for the taxi to take us back to the airport. “Tzatziki” is basically sour cream and chive in disguise, but “Oregano” really is oregano; they were both so salty, that we didn’t finish either of them.

The taxi arrived early, and we decided just to go to the airport. The drive was only 20 minutes and we were there well ahead of check-in opening. About 2.5 hours before the flight, check-in opened and we dropped off our luggage, then passed through security in 8 minutes! Totally different from Istanbul Airport. We headed straight for the airport lounge, and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity until our flight was called. It was also the last opportunity to have some Albanian red wine (not strictly true as I do have one bottle in my suitcase!)

Instead of a British Airways plane and crew, we had Finnair as part of the One World Alliance. I can’t remember if I’ve ever flown them before, but the food was good (Tortellini in a mushroom sauce for me and Iain had Chicken) and I had a few glasses of champagne! We got home safely, happy to be home but unhappy that the holiday was over. Wherever next?
