No plans, what to do?

I`m not very good when things aren`t planned out but we made it work!

First stop, a small breakfast followed by a museum and stadium tour at River Plate.

Now they did warn us, but everything was in Spanish; thankfully most of it you can get by and figure out whats going on if you are a football fan. The museum was excellent, and I really recommend it, the stadium was good too, albiet a bit soulless; we may need to visit Boca Juniors to compare. The museum tour also included other random items like Fanio`s car which he drove at the Nurburgring. I also took a picture of the two Argentines who played for Rangers, although I`m sure both alsoplayed for Boca! It was very funny though, as there were another two people who stuck out like a sore thumb, it just so happens she was Scottish and he was from Northern Ireland, they also had no clue what was gong on during the tour, but we all enjoed it.

We got an uber back to the hotel so we could dump our purchases, before heading over to Cafe Tortoni, a very famous and old coffee house. We decided to have coffee and cake, before doing a bit of retail therapy on the way back to the hotel. Coffee and cake were excellent, but the shopping was terrible and we bought nothing, but at least we had plenty of exercise walking off the cheesecake before our MIchelin meal tonight! I think it took 25 minutes, but we made it; Argentina feels reasonably safe as long as you are sensible!

After such a long walk, we needed a beer on arrival back at the hotel It was only one though, as we had a reservation at Aramburu, a two-star Michelin restaurant, only a 15 minute walk from the hotel. We got dressed up, although not that dressed-up, before setting on our way. It was easy to find, although they weren`t quite open when we arrived. After a quick seat outside, we were shown to our table, one of the two `chef`s tables` and seated in front of the kitchen. The menu was a simple 16 courses, and if yuo wanted the matching wine package, you could do that too! I`d like to tell you what I had, but I think the menu and accompanying pictures probably do it more justice!

One thing to note is the receipt above, its possibly the most i`ve ever paid for a meal 1.127million (yes, million!) Argentinian Pesos!

You can imagine after alll of that, we were stuffed and wanted nothing more than to fall asleep, or have a cocktail in the bar of the hotel! The world cup qualifiers were on, so we caught the end of Argentina, who got beat by Ecuador, but it wasn`t so bad as Brazil also suffered the same fate at the hands of Bolivia. I think that helped the Argentines feel better!

After an Aperol Spritz each, we headed to the room and to bed; eating makes you sleepy!
