Overnight in Bangkok
After collecting our baggage, we headed outside to get the shuttle bus to the hotel, only a 10 minute ride away. We found the information desk where we were advised to go to exit 5, which we did. We wandered outside and mulled about for 5 minutes, not having a clue what we were doing. After another 5 minutes and numerous shuttle buses going by, we asked someone that looked official. He thankfully spoke English and directed us to a guy in a bright pink jacket; we now know that this is the uniform for some of the Best Western staff in Thailand.

After collapsing for a half hour, we ventured out to the VIP area, not exactly anything posh but they had the tastiest blueberry mini-danish pastries! I had 4 :) After 20 minutes, we decided to head back to the room and demolish the mini bar, well it was included!

Unfortunately, we had just missed the shuttle and were asked to wait 20 minutes......we were wishing we had taken the business class chauffeur service after all. It wasn’t too long a wait before we headed off to the hotel, passing lots of night markets and restaurants busy with the evening rush. It took 15 minutes to get to the hotel, but it was worth the wait! We weren’t expecting too much, given it was an airport hotel but it was beautiful. Trailfinders had also advised them that we were a honeymoon couple so we got a lovely upgrade; we were given a room on the 7th floor, with a VIP section to relax in and the mini-bar included. We were asked for the usual credit card for security and naturallly, I used my Rangers card; he said “I like your card, it’s so cool, I know Glasgow Rangers...” Tip for him!
